This consignment looks big, but it is being spread between five of the six different medical coordination teams we support, with 60+ health facilities.

PPE supplies boxed up by Medical Aid International

The Ebola epidemic is still spreading fast. Our hospitals have had suspect and confirmed cases who they send onto the Ebola Treatment Centres. They have to wear PPE when they receive all cases of fever, and then have to try to identify and isolate all contacts, not an easy task when many of the communities in which we work are in areas of instability and conflict.

Please keep giving generously. Our hospitals and health centres needs so much more PPE and kit. We would like to repeat an equivalent order of at least £12,000 within 2 weeks. We want to do everything we can to support our partners to rapidly identify, isolate and treat Ebola cases while staying safe. We also want to send money directly to our partners so they can expand their awareness raising campaigns and support to community leadership. They are at the centre of their communities want to amplify the public health messaging and also counter mis-information. We would like to send at least £10,000 in case to the six coordination teams to support the efforst by church and community leaders. This will include money for St Matthieu Hosiptal and health centers in and around Bukavu which were too far from the other centres to be included in this order, so they can purchase PPE and organise community awareness campaigns directly.
